Ebay, Wraps, and Disappearing Time

Tuesday, May 12, 2009 by Lolli Leave a Comment

The kids come home from school in 30 minutes, and what do I have to show for it? Where do my hours go, anyway? I always seem to have too much on my schedule.

I was planning on doing another Tell Me a Story Tuesday, but I spent all evening yesterday posting books and DVDs on eBay, and then I attended Necco’s school concert this morning….and then there was the laundry and the phone calls and the photos that need to be edited from my 2 photo shoots this weekend…..And here we are.

Spending time on eBay the last 2 days has really sent me down memory lane. Back when AJ was a little thing, I was a huge eBay seller. Didn’t know that about me? I sold enough during the Fall of 2006 to buy Renaissance Festival costumes AND Christmas presents.

PS–do you recognize my dress from the dance that CandyMan and I went to last month? Back then, it fit me a little better….

I sent most of my time on eBay selling baby wraps. I was the first eBay seller to sell handmade wraps (in late 2005). I’m not joking. I swear I started a trend. By the time AJ grew out of being carried in a wrap and my low-cost fabric source disappeared and I decided to stop selling wraps regularly, they were all over the place.

I really miss baby wraps. I miss having AJ so small and keeping him so close all the time. But I honestly don’t miss eBay selling that much. I’d much rather spend my time taking pictures and blogging. ;) EBay took up a whole lot of time, and sometimes it was a bit of a headache. Way less interactive than a blog. Way more work. Boxes, shipping labels, answering emails, writing listings.

Have you ever sold anything on eBay? What has your experience been?

In case you haven’t seen these newer Fishful Thinking links on my sidebar (I always put the updated info there), these links are well worth your time!
