My sister, Andrea, met us on Monday for 2008’s family pictures (we get one done every Fall, even if it means setting up the camera on a tripod and running!). Thankfully, my sister has been around the last 3 years and we haven’t had to worry about the beep-beep-beep timer. :)
Andrea is a fabulous photographer and I am so excited about our pictures this year! This was the first time that everyone (kids and Dads alike) had a great attitude. We had FUN!
Andrea and I worked out a great deal this time around. I took her pictures and she took our pictures….and then we edited our own photos (the post-processing is where the WORK and TIME come in–snapping the pictures is the fun part!). I just finished editing a few of my favorites.
My favorite “traditional” family picture had a horrible white sky….so I made my own cloudy sky!
You guys have seen my banner-version of this shot, but you haven’t heard the story! Peanut Butter thought that taking a walking picture was the silliest idea, and made fun of it the entire time. The smiles and cute expressions between family members here are complete mockery. Wouldn’t you know it…..PB LOVES this picture, and immediately (upon seeing my banner version) sent it to his facebook page to show it off. :)
This is just s silly, hugging shot. But I like it.
One more thing…..on our way to take these pictures, we ran into HORRIBLE traffic. We were set to take pre-sunset pictures and instead ended up with sunset and post-sunset pictures. It was DARK (see that purple sky??). Thankfully, Andrea was able to brilliantly save the shoot, and we ended up with some fabulous pictures, all taken in the 30 minutes before the sun was completely gone from the sky.
Here, the boys were acting silly.
Thoughtful….(I love Taco’s look, and the fact that even Apple played along!)
My boys. :)
Here’s another shot that PB mocked while we were taking it. He thought Andrea was so silly to make our picture off-center. He said, “We’re not engaged, you know!” (referring to the engagement pictures that were popular back when we got married with all of the wedding info off to one side of the picture). When he saw the off-centered shot compared to the centered shot, he conceded that Andrea DID, in fact, know what she was doing.
We had some silly girl time, too. I love the look on my face at Kiwi’s, um, whatever you call that…
Noodle prefers to NOT be in the spotlight.
I wish I could make a collage of all of the silly faces that Reese made throughout the shoot. She is a ham!
And, finally, a nice one. Me and my girls.
There you go! Our family pictures. A success!
