I haven’t been taking many pictures lately. In fact, I feel like I keep saying that. Week after week I find myself coming up empty when I go looking for “my best shot.”
Today, tired and full of anxiety (which has been particularly bad lately), I cleaned my house to get ready for a non-time photo shoot. I was not feeling inspired to take pictures. I was sure, starting out, that I would fail.
Luckily, I really like the ladies that I had over this morning. I was shocked as I realized, while taking individual pictures of one beautiful young woman, that I could feel the inspiration rising. I was enjoying myself. And even more amazing was the fact that I could tell that the pictures were turning out well.
Today, I found my inspiration in my kitchen, next to my sliding glass door leading out to my back yard. My inspiration came in the form of three beautiful girls and their smiles and a camera that decided to cooperate for me. I miss that feeling.
*Note: Cecily is currently without power. There was a huge wind storm in her area, which knocked out the power everywhere. What a way to bring in December! She apologizes for not having a post up.

What a gift and a challenge all in one! You are such a gifted photographer but I can see how it would be difficult to find new things to photograph and new ways to capture the world. I’m glad you found some inspiration in those beautiful faces.

I know what you mean!
Sometimes I just don’t feel like taking photos, but usually if I just get started I can find something to inspire me.

it’s so good when you find that inspiration!
(I feel the same way…uninspired lately, although I’m 100% certain it’s because we have no home…)
Hoping I find my footing again when we find a place to live.
GREAT lighting in these pics!!!
