This is sponsored recipe for Gourmet Garden through 15 Minute Suppers. Recipe and opinions are my own.
I love cooking with fresh spices and herbs. I’d do it more often if the fresh spices and herbs I bought at the store didn’t go bad so quickly. This past week, since receiving a package containing an assortment of Gourmet Garden products, I have loved having the full flavor of fresh spices and herbs anytime. I’ve literally cooked with them every single day. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to go back to dried spices!
While I was thinking about the perfect recipe to feature for this week’s 15 Minute Suppers post, I came up with the idea to try a variety of flatbread pizzas using Gourmet Garden herbs and spices. We had a little taste-testing party in the kitchen – SO good! Each recipe below makes one flatbread pizza (one serving) so make your own taste-testing appetizers or let everyone in the family design their own flatbread pizza.
Note: I used one 10.2 ounce package of thin crust flatbreads to make all of the pizzas for my family. The best part about this recipe is you can make as many or as few as you’re in the mood for. For even crispier flatbreads, bake them at 350° for 1-2 minutes before adding toppings.
Zucchini-Feta Flatbread
Spread one flatbread with a combination of 1 1/2 teaspoon Gourmet Garden Italian herbs and 1 teaspoon chunky garlic paste. Place thinly sliced zucchini on top of spices and sprinkle with crumbled feta cheese, approximately 1/4 cup. (I sprinkled a little bit of Parmesan cheese on it, too). Bake on a cookie sheet for about 7 minutes at 350°. Slice and serve!
Tomato-Provolone Flatbread
Spread one flatbread with a mixture of 1 teaspoon each: Gourmet Garden chili pepper paste, garlic paste, and cilantro paste. Cover flatbread with thinly sliced provolone cheese, and then top with thinly sliced tomatoes. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired. Bake on a cookie sheet for about 7 minutes at 350°. Slice and serve!
Pepperoni Pizza Flatbread
Spread one flatbread with a mixture of 1-2 teaspoons tomato paste (or 1 tsp tomato paste and 1 tsp chili pepper paste) and 1 teaspoon Gourmet Garden Italian herbs. Sprinkle with your choice of shredded cheese, and then place pepperoni slices on top. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired. Bake on a cookie sheet for about 7 minutes at 350°. Slice and serve!
The winner of my personal taste test was the tomato-provolone. I loved the combination of cilantro, chili peppers and garlic, and I’ll be making this variety for a quick lunch of dinner all the time.
Which variety would you like the best? What other combinations would you like to try?
