The school-wide Halloween parade has got to be my favorite part of Halloween (the parade is only slightly ahead of the post-trick-or-treating candy tasting). This year, AJ decided at the last minute that he no longer wanted to be the werewolf and would rather dress in his size 2T-3T knight costume instead. Luckily, I was able to sneak his werewolf costume in his backpack and avoided a tantrum at school when he found it in place of the knight costume.
Reese refused to listen to me when I said that she would be cold in her fairy costume without tights and a leotard underneath. She insisted that they would ruin the “look.”
Twizzler, my anti-costume child, surprised us all by sticking a cape in his bag and happily wearing his grim reaper/dementor/dead dude costume for the parade.
Me? I wore my dad’s old coon skin cap (which a kindergartener mistook for squirrel) and a camera around me neck. And I enjoyed the best treats from everyone’s class Halloween parties. Yes, that is the true reason why I love the school Halloween celebration so much.
Have you heard? SITS is giving away a Canon Rebel T2i camera. I’m linking this post to the contest!

so no picture of you with the coon’s hat? Your kids look fantastic – even the grim reaper.

We did. It was pretty fun. It was the first year in a LONG time when all of us went trick or treating together. Usually the kids end up going with friends or big groups. It was interesting, for sure!

You should scan back to see the earlier pics I took of his costume–they’re even better. Plus, putting R and A together reminded me of Beauty and the Beast! (I added a link to the post at the bottom of my comment…)

AHHH!!! AJ’s costume is the BEST!! I’ve been dying to see it! And Reese looked beautiful. Too bad her and Ness didn’t get to freeze together in their girlie costumes.
