Once a year is simply not often enough to express my gratitude for the abundance that I enjoy. In fact, just yesterday I was talking with a friend who called to check up on me. She has known me well enough (and for long enough) to know just how difficult the last few years have been for my family.
I told her with no hesitation that although these may be some of the hardest days of my life, they are also some of the best.
Today, I am wearing my comfy shoes, standing in the kitchen all day cooking a huge feast. I probably have flour on my shirt and a sink full of dirty dishes that I am putting off cleaning.
This year, we’re keeping it simple and just having Thanksgiving dinner with our immediate family. I’ll be missing the friends and family members who have shared our past Thanksgivings with us.
My feet will probably be sore by the end of the day and my stomach will be stretched to capacity after eating so much….but I am thankful. There is so much to be thankful for.
I have a Thanksgiving link up on 5 Minutes for Mom and would love if you would link up your Thanksgiving posts there, too.
Have a wonderful holiday!
