I’m packed and (almost) ready to go.
You know the feeling that you get when you are about to embark on something REALLY exciting?
That’s how I’m feeling right now.
Today I am getting on a train and heading to New York City where I will spend the next three days with Disney/Dreamworks and a small group of bloggers for a weekend jam-packed with the kind of activities only Disney and Dreamworks could dream up.
Blogging professionally (and getting a great job as the managing editor of 5 Minutes for Mom) has been a lot of work. Anyone who thinks I don’t work for this hasn’t seen me up at midnight writing away. But the perks are incredible. I never would have imagined that I would be heading out for an exciting (dare I say glamorous??) weekend in NYC.
Here’s what we’ve got on the agenda:
- DreamWorks Pictures’ WAR HORSE Red Carpet Premiere & After Party
- Mary Poppins on Broadway (This will be my very first Broadway show!)
- Advance screening of Beauty and the Beast in 3D
- Private Tour of the New Amsterdam Theatre (home of Mary Poppins on Broadway)
- Interview with Steve Fickinger, VP of Creative Development and Licensing (Mary Poppins and Newsies on Broadway)
- Interview with Academy Award nominee, Emily Watson (“Rose Narracott” in War Horse)
Of course, I will be taking my camera and will be reporting back about the shows, the interviews, and the simple magic of being in New York City during the Holidays. But until then, here’s a little preview of what I’ve got in store:
