How My Teens Are Crushing It #YoplaitGoBig

Monday, September 26, 2016 by Lolli Leave a Comment

I won’t lie. I was scared to have teens. Thank goodness we work up to the teenage years. And thank goodness I was blessed with amazing teens. I really couldn’t be more proud of them.

I love being a mom, and now that my kids are all teens, I love seeing them develop their own amazing talents and passions. Yoplait Go Big already knows that teens are amazing. That’s why Go Big has invited me to write a letter to my teen(s) about what makes them amazing and how they inspire me. Since I’ve got a house full of teens, I couldn’t pick just one of them, so I decided to feature each of my amazing teens.

Note: when I started my blog years and years ago, my kids were little and to protect their identity a little, I gave them all candy nicknames (just like my nickname, Lolli).

Dear Necco, You are my kindred spirit. When you were born, I immediately felt like I knew you, and as you’ve grown I have continually seen myself in you. Just a better version. I admire your ability to sing – you are so talented and I couldn’t be more proud of you. Every time I hear you sing, my heart just about bursts. I can’t believe that you’re a senior this year. I can’t wait to see where you take your passions and your talents in the next few years. And I love that you are working with me now. It’s so fun to share that with you!

Dear Twizzler, It’s hard to believe that you are my little boy, because I see a man when I look at you. I am so proud of the person you are growing up to be. I love that you are such a good teacher and mentor for kids that are younger than you. I can tell that the younger kids at church and school look up to you, and it makes me proud that you are a positive and patient example for them to follow. I love that you are so passionate about and naturally talented at running. You are crushing it!

Dear Reese, Since you were a little girl, your talents and natural abilities have amazed me. You have this insane ability to excel at everything you try, and I love that you have tried SO many things! From advanced orchestra to softball to jazz band to cheerleading to student government….you do everything so well, and it makes me so proud. Since you were little, everyone who has gotten to know you has fallen in love with you, and it doesn’t surprise me. You are one of my favorite people!

Dear AJ, You are my little boy…even though you aren’t so little any more! I can’t believe you’re in middle school now. I love that you are so confident, and I am so proud of the student that you are. I wish I could have been there last weekend for your very first Cubing Competition. I love that you were able to beat your personal best time for the one-handed 3×3 and got to meet so many record holders and like-minded cubers. And I can’t wait to see how you do at your next competition this winter! You rock!

And, of course, I couldn’t leave my oldest daughter out, even though she’s married and living all the way across the country. KitKat, you have always made me so proud. You are driven and focused and you are sucessful at everything you set your mind to do. I love seeing you establish your own house and family, but I miss having you around everyday.

Love you all, Mom

About Go Big

Yoplait Go Big is a new, large yogurt pouch designed with teens and tweens in mind. I don’t know if you’ve got teenagers at home, but I’m sure it won’t surprise anyone to hear that teens have bigger appetites than they did when they were younger. Not only do they eat more, but they tend to be even busier than ever – running around to team practices and youth activities and football games and babysitting jobs. They need fuel for all of their activities and they often need that fuel to be easy to eat on-the-go. We love Go Big because it tastes great and is the perfect size, PLUS…

• No artificial colors
• No high fructose corn syrup
• Contains real fruit
• Good source of calcium
• Gluten free
• Kosher Dairy

Go Big can be found at grocery retailers nationwide in two 8-count variety packs: Strawberry/Mixed Berry and Peach Mango/Cherry. To open a cool grip-and-rip pouch of Go Big: tear up & then back. So easy!
