It didn’t really hit me until just a few minutes ago that it was Thursday evening. I mean I knew what day it was….we’ve been doing the countdown to our big Florida trip for weeks and we are finally leaving TOMORROW. This afternoon, we’re in the middle of pre-vacation craziness. The kids are bouncing off the walls, we haven’t packed yet, the house is not clean, and my to-do list is still stressing me out.
But tomorrow night, no matter what, we cram the van full of suitcases, pillows, snacks, and all of our portable electronics and head to the Kissimmee/Orlando area for a week.
I’m so excited. I have traveled quite a bit for the blog this year, but I rarely get to bring anyone along with me, and certainly not the whole family PLUS all of the in-laws. Yes, there will be 12 of us on this family vacation. Luckily, they don’t have to share the car ride with us…
I honestly haven’t taken any interesting photos all week (that is not an exaggeration) so I thought it might be more fun to give you a little sneak peek at what we will be doing this coming week.
Thanks to the amazing Global Resort Homes in Kissimmee (just a mile and a half away from Disney World), we’ll be staying at this gorgeous 6 bedroom home with a private pool and hot tub. Honestly, right now staying at home for the full week and relaxing by the pool sounds like the perfect way to spend the vacation. Sadly, the kids have some other ideas in mind…
I’m excited to take the kids on an airboat ride at Boggy Creek at the beginning of the week. I was there in April and even got to hold an alligator. Cool!
The rest of the week, we’ll be spending lots of time at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure (Yes, we’re paying for our tickets ourselves). The kids are over-the-top excited about visiting Harry Potter World. I have to admit…so am I.
I apologize for not having any pictures for you, but I promise I’ll have a ton this coming week.
Wish me luck on tomorrow’s 14 hour drive!
Note – although the housing on this trip and a few activities were covered for us, this was not a brand trip, but a family vacation.
