When it comes to having fun, it can be expensive to take your family out for a night on the town. However, it’s so important to spend time together as a family because it brings you closer than ever. If you’re looking for ways to bring your family close together, check out these 10 ideas for low cost family fun.

10 Idea for Low Cost Family Fun

1 – Movie Night– This is always a cheap way to have fun with the whole family. You can rent a movie or just use a movie you already have on hand. Make popcorn and other family favorite snacks to make the night even more fun.
2 – Sledding or Ice Skating– If you live in a cold area, it can be fun to go sledding or even ice skating. And this is usually a minimal expense.
3 – Picnic at the Park– Packing up a picnic and going to the local park for lunch is always a great idea. It’s always nice to get out and enjoy the sunshine and watch the kiddos play.
4 – Make a Blanket Fort– Obviously if your kids are older, you won’t necessarily make a blanket fort with them, but this is always a good idea when you have little ones.
5 – Thrift Shopping– This is always a favorite around here. We love to head into thrift shops to see what we can find for fairly cheap. We’ve found some great stuff over the years.
6 – Cookie Baking– Baking is always a great way to get the whole family involved in something fun for fairly cheap. And kids love helping bake cookies and other various treats.
7 – Have an Evening of Art– The great thing about art is that it doesn’t cost anything to make. You can use a crayon or fancy pencils to make whatever piece of art you choose. Plus, this is a great way to bond as a family.
8 – Family Football– Even if your family members aren’t the best at playing sports, there is no right or wrong when it comes to playing family football. You can make up your own rules and have a great time doing it. If your family doesn’t like playing football, consider baseball, soccer, or even running!
9 – Visit Family– One of our favorite things to do is visit family when we have downtime. If the family is busy, then we try to visit friends or set up a time to get together. It doesn’t cost anything to visit with friends and family. And it’s always nice to see your family and old friends.
10 – Have a Family Game Night– Family game night is a favorite in our family. Over the years, we have collected various family games and we love pulling them out to play on family game night. Plus, as your kids get older, it’s a lot more fun to play family games.

When it comes to spending time together as a family, it shouldn’t be expensive. What is your favorite low cost family fun idea?

These are all great suggestions we love board games and card games, and throwing a frisbee at the park, and we buy the majority of clothes at thrift stores.
