Introducing eBay Collections #eBayCollection #FollowitFindit

Tuesday, October 22, 2013 by Lolli 16 Comments

This introductory post about the new eBay Collections is being sponsored by eBay, but all thoughts (and collections!) are my own. Follow hashtag #FollowitFindit for more!

I have been an eBay user since my kids were babies. I can’t tell you how many deals I’ve found – from baby clothes and baby accessories to camera gear and electronic goodies. I have funded Christmases, birthdays and trips to the Renaissance Festival solely through the items that I’ve sold on eBay.

So when I was approached over the summer to work on a brand new project on eBay – eBay Collections – I jumped on it right away. I admit that I’ve had more than a little fun putting this top-secret/finally-unveiled project together. Who doesn’t love window shopping and dreaming a little?

What are eBay Collections?

Collections are hand-picked groups of products from curators (like me!), fellow eBay members (that’s me, too!), sellers and awesome brands – from eBay’s more than 500 million listed items. I have put together collections based on some of my favorite things (and a few of my kids’ faves, too) like mustaches and kitchen tools and infinity scarves and chevron print….and Doctor Who!

Who are curators? eBay curators are trendsetters from a variety of interests and backgrounds who create engaging collections on eBay that connect you with products that you love (or will love once you discover them!). You can follow curators that you know (like me) and curators that have similar taste or you can simply follow a single collection that you are drawn to.

Not only can eBay users now create their own collections, but users can also create a new profile page to let other members know about them. Here’s my brand new, shiny eBay profile, with my collections displayed underneath. Want to follow me? Click the green Follow button to follow my collections (you’ll see them in your eBay feed when you log in to eBay).

If you have your eye on one particular collection (like my Mustache Collection – hello!), then simply click the Follow button underneath that collection.

How to create your own collections

It’s so easy to create your own collections – the challenge is not losing track of time. It can be addicting! When you see an item you like when you’re browsing eBay (either while you’re shopping or while you’re checking out another member’s collections), click on the star icon to create a new collection or add it to one you’ve already made.

You named your boards such clever titles and your collections were clearly well put together. I was especially interested in your Canon board!

I’ve just recently gone back to shopping e-Bay. You are amazingly organized to keep up with a blog and do e-Bay. The mustache collection is too cute!

Wow, first time hearing of this! I used to sell on eBay all the time… not sure why I ever stopped. I am going to make a point to get back over there and see the new updates they have made. My first collection would probably be boots! Because my feet are freezing right now!!

I love to shop on ebay. Probably my first collection would be a list of home school books that I need.

Okay, I have a confession, I have never ever even been to ebay as it always seems so ‘huge’ to me, I wouldn’t know where to start, but I just may have to check it out. Thanks so much
