Towards the end of the day yesterday, I began hearing from the Health Department. They sent out an inspector around 4:30. He checked out the neighbor’s house, took pictures, and slapped these lovely signs on their front door. It’s really depressing to be living next door to this, but I am thrilled to see those signs there.
Now, I’m not so naive that I think that this will really, truly get the job done, but at least it’s a step in the right direction. I went to bed feeling much more relaxed last night (but stinking hot, since we can’t run the AC, and it was around 90 yesterday).
This morning, I got a set-back call. I’m trying to not let it freak me out. Our insurance does not cover mold, ground water damage, or ongoing problems. Holy Crap! The adjuster doesn’t think they’ll be able to pay us anything. We need a lawyer fast. This is NOT coming at a good time!!
