Our last stop on Williamsburg before heading back home was the Jamestown Settlement. What an amazing place for kids…and adults! It was already sprinkling when we got there, and so we rushed through the outdoor stuff just a little bit, but everyone was enthralled by the hands-on history! Taco and I spent at least 20 minutes exploring the first ship. You could sit on the bunks, handle the ropes and games and food. No behind glass walls here!
The Native American village was unbelievable! You could touch everything! The younger kids were a little freaked out by the bear and wolf and fox (etc) skins hanging inside the huts.
Noodle’s favorite area was the blacksmith in the fort, who was making real nails and explaining the process. Cool! By the time Taco and I got there, he was done making nails and had moved on to welding two pieces of metal together.
Another place I can’t wait to visit again!
