My kids are officially on Summer Vacation, as of last Tuesday. Summer time is both a blessing and a curse. I love letting my body wake up when it wants to. I love spending time at my neighborhood pool and playing games with my kids. I love taking day trips to see my sister in Pennsylvania. But I don’t love that the kids often want to let their brains veg for 2 months.
Figuring out how to avoid the “Summer Slide” is something most parents with kids in public schools struggle with every June through August. I love this infographic from Target and some of their ideas for avoiding losing everything that the kids have gained throughout the school year.

I came across this infographic on Target’s blog, A Bullseye View, after I had the opportunity to interview Soleil Moon Frye (the former Punky Brewster). She was a delight to interview, and she made a great impression on me by starting our conversation calling ME her hero. Check out our conversation:
My post on 5 Minutes for Mom includes a $50 Target gift card and 10 age-appropriate books for you kids, so I highly recommend that you go check that out now…
