Merry Christmas….a few weeks late!

Monday, January 7, 2008 by Lolli Leave a Comment

I made it through the first weekend of the year in Primary. We kicked off our new theme (I am a child of God) and had a huge breakfast for the kids on Saturday. We fed the kids a couple hundred pancakes and fruit, played get-to-know-you games with new teachers, and spotlighted the new presidency members. Two miracles–we had about 90% attendance, AND the kids (41 of them!) sat completely still and attentive for about 30 minutes while my counselors and I showed them pictures and objects to “teach” them about us!! I have been working several hours a day to get to this point, so I am extremely relieved to have that behind me! Now I can finally get those Christmas pictures off my camera…

Kiwi’s birthday cake (my traditional Jewish Apple Cake from my friend, Mariana). Happy 11th birthday, Kiwi!! For her birthday (remember, it’s Christmas Eve!) I took Kiwi and her best friend to see National Treasure 2. For dinner, as always for her birthday, we ate at Ay! Jalisco, our favorite El Salvadorian restaurant.
Christmas morning–our traditional picture with the Santa presents.

Apple got more Geotrax pieces. Choo choo!
Taco was so thrilled with his new pirate playmobil set that he really had no desire to open anything else.
I had to include this picture–Apple loved Reese’s Barbie styling head.
Kiwi got just what she wanted–an ATM machine/bank. She declared that it was even better than she had hoped because Santa found a pink one!
Reese had been waiting for weeks to open a special bath-time baby doll that she picked out. I was impressed that she kept it wrapped for so long.

Noodle probably had her best Christmas ever–Santa gave her the baby doll that she wanted, and mom gave her the coolest thing ever–a lap harp! She is a pro already! She has learned how to play “I like to look for rainbows” which she is planning on playing for her friend’s baptism later this month.
After Christmas, Peanut Butter actually let Kiwi cut his hair!! I helped a little….and it turned out great!
So there’s our holiday in a quick nutshell. :)
