Neosporin 3-Day Challenge

Tuesday, January 26, 2010 by Lolli 5 Comments

A few weeks ago, I received an email from Mom Central asking if I would be willing to participate in the Neosporin Lip Health 3-Day Challenge. The email said something along the lines of “….Many of us dread this season as we come to expect uncomfortable lip-splitting and cracking, fading color and scaly texture….”

By the end of the message, I was practically raising my hand shouting, “Me! That’s ME!” at my computer screen. I responded right away, and I was sent a sample of Neosporin’s Lip Health Overnight Renewal Therapy and the Lip Health Daily Hydration Therapy.

The last 2 Winters, my lips have gotten so bad (dry, burning, and flaky) that I went to see my dermatologist 3 times about the problem. She put me on a topical prescription medication for my lips, and made me promise to not wear any lipstick (only the ointment or petroleum jelly) for weeks and weeks. My lips were so bad that I was willing to give up my favorite, must-wear lipstickthat I never leave home without. But I can’t promise that I didn’t complain.

Here’s what was happening to my lips:

Neosporin - cross section of lip surface

And, no big surprise, it started to happen again this Winter. I could feel the burning and I could see the flakiness starting all over again, and despite my best efforts to control it, my lips were heading in the same direction as before.

And then I got the samples of Neosporin’s Lip Health Overnight Renewal Therapy and the Lip Health Daily Hydration Therapy. I started therapy right away, and although both felt good on, my lips were still burning and flaky. Until day 3. It was on the 3rd day (no joke) that I realized that my lips were smooth and healthy. It worked. It really worked!

I love the fact that a simple over-the-counter product could do what a doctor’s visit and prescription medication couldn’t. It healed my lips!

Are you ready to take the Neosporin Lip Health 3-Day Challenge? Click here for Coupons for Neosporin, and let me know if it works for you, too!

Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Neosporin and received a sample of the Lip Health Overnight Renewal Therapy and the Lip Health Daily Hydration Therapy to facilitate my review and a $20 thank-you gift certificate to www.globalgiving.org

I Love this stuff!! I’m from California too but use it due my Sjögren’s syndrome I have a very dry mouth and lips. I use it all day long. It is a bit pricey though. I have already used my coupon and am unable to locate a distributer to sell to me in bulk. Do you know of any? The cheapest I have found is $4.74 but they added a Dollar shipping fee, so that is out. Does anyone have any recommendations?

It’s amazing how different my skin is depending on where I am in the country. I don’t need any lotion here during the summer, but Winter’s a whole different thing!

Now that we are in CA we don’t have issues like we did the in NW and NE, but, it still sounds like a wonderful product!
