No-Fail Mother’s Day

Sunday, April 18, 2010 by Lolli 6 Comments

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bliss Living. All opinions are 100% mine.

Mother’s Day is coming up soon, and I am determined NOT to have a repeat of Mother’s Day 2008. Care to hear about it? It was pretty bad.

I woke up on Mother’s Day morning and went downstairs to read. CandyMan (my loving, but sometimes distracted and always over-worked husband) was sitting in the family room as well. The house was quiet. Nothing was said. Twizzler joined us and asked, “Mommy, when are you going to open your presents?”

CandyMan’s blank stare said it all, “What do you MEAN, presents?” he asked Twizzler.

My son looked back and forth between his mom and dad, unsure of what to say. So I broke it to CandyMan.

“Hunny, it’s Mother’s Day.”

It was obviously NOT one of my best Mother’s Days ever. In fact it stunk and kept getting worse. I think he has learned his lesson well (ie–Do Not, under any circumstance forget Mother’s Day, and if you do, MAKE UP FOR IT the rest of the day with some extra pampering!) but just in case, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to give him a little help.

Since I obviously have everything I NEED, I think I’ll point him towards some things that I WANT. I have a weakness for necklaces, and Bliss Living Jewelry has some particularly gorgeous ones. Take a look at some of my favorites from their shop:

How perfect would this be for me? Look at that! All 5 of my kids on one necklace! Multi-Silver Charms Family Necklace : uniquely made with hammered sterling silver charm. Each charm is handcrafted and delicately inscribed with your custom sentiment. It includes one dime-size 9/16″ Sterling Silver charm on a sterling silver chain (more can be added). Charms are custom inscribed with your favorite names in unique handwriting by our artist. We recommend first names on front and birth date on back.

I simply love the look of this necklace! Classic but unique> Circle & Square Necklace: Tiny charm and stone hang from a hand-hammered sterling silver circle pendant and on a sterling silver chain. Tiny charms can be round, square or diamond shape and are 1/2″ in diameter. Make it special with your choice of a large initial, word, name or a heart symbol (6 letters max). Additonal tiny charms can be added.

And this one is just fun! Tag Necklace with African Turquoise: : hand-stamped with a word of your choice (8 letters max) on a sterling silver tag. Hangs on a 18″ sterling silver beaded chain and accented with a hand wrapped dangle of African turquoise and a sun charm. Beautiful and unique!

We made a rule that we only got parent’s day presents the year we had a new baby. Juice forgot that rule the year we had the twins. I had to buy it myself. That is NOT cool.

I’m thinking of making him break that rule for me for good. I’d like a present!
