It’s day two of the last week of summer (for my kids) and we’re ready for the second giveaway!
What is it about little girls and painted nails? I suppose the childhood love of painted nails never goes away, does it? I still love it.
Reese, my 6 year old, asked me yesterday if she could paint her nails. Nail painting is a great bonding activity for mom and daughter, but I have to admit–I hate the smell of nail polish and remover that lingers in my bathroom for hours after my kids have painted their nails. Thank goodness I was prepared yesterday with the perfect solution for little girls nails:
Piggy Paint is a natural nail polish designed for fancy little (& Big) girls, and was recently founded by Melanie Hurley, a stay at home mom of two little girls. Here’s her story:
One day while we were painting nails over a foam plate, my daughter dropped a glob of her solvent-based polish onto the plate. Shortly after, the paint began to bubble and “ate” through the plate. I looked in dismay at the hole in the plate and decided to test all of her other “kid” polishes on the foam. Within minutes, ALL of the solvent-based polishes began to bubble and eventually left big holes in the plate. From that day on, I decided that any flammable substance that could eat through foam was unacceptable for my children’s fingernails, which would inevitably end up in their mouths. My quest was on, and Piggy Paint™ was born. As you may have guessed, our polish is NOT flammable and sits beautifully on the unaffected foam.
Both their polishes and remover are non-toxic and odorless, yet wear the same as traditional polishes. The polish went on smooth, and it didn’t stink up the bathroom at all. Even the nail polish remover was odorless. That’s always a good thing. :) I can’t always say the same for my family members…
