SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Socks Giveaway

Wednesday, February 10, 2010 by Lolli 62 Comments

Tired of hearing her son scream “these sock seams keep bugging me,” a mom decided something needed to be done.  Every “seamless” sock her son tried had seams in it; there was not a truly seamless sock available.  After explaining the frustrating morning routine to countless friends of her son’s struggles with socks, she was finally given the name of Knit-Rite, a textile manufacturer, and contacted them with her request for a seamless kids sock.

After several requests for seamless socks from “desperate” parents, SmartKnitKIDS socks were created. Here’s some cool info about SmartKnitKIDS socks:

• No Seams to Bug Ya!
Completely free of seams, the patented kids’ socks are designed to provide comfort and relief to children who struggle with “bumps & lumps” in their socks. Knit the same way a caterpillar spins its cocoon, SmartKnitKIDS socks are started at the toe and worked up toward the ankle.

• Reduces annoying wrinkling and bunching in the shoe
Corespun yarns using Lycra and form-?tting design result in children’s socks that “hug” the foot reducing wrinkling and bunching. The form fitting design also helps to keep socks on the wiggliest of toes.

• Unique No-Heel Design
“No heel” design allows children to put on socks with confidence and keeps little feet from outgrowing their socks so quickly.

• Comfortable Non-Binding Top
Our non-binding Halo Top™ fits comfortably without slipping down the leg.Regular socks often have elastic bands at the tops of the sock that can often pinch, bind or be a source of irritation.

• Keeps Feet Dry & Healthy
SmartKnitKIDS™ Socks are made with high-tech ?bers that wick moisture away helping ensure a drier and more hygienic sock environment. They are also anti-microbial, inhibiting fungal odor-causing bacteria.

• A truly seam free socks is great for kids with Sensory Processing Disorder and Autism, or for those who simply cannot stand annoying sock seams.

• SmartKnitKIDS socks come in several different colors and sizes.

My experience:

I don’t often talk about Twizzler’s SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder). While his case is very mild, it has been a challenge over the years to buy him clothes. When he was potty training, we found that he could only tolerate one brand of underwear. Dozens of socks have gone to waste because they were either too tight, too loose, or too thick. He won’t wear jeans because of the way they feel on his skin. Try buttoning the last button on his Sunday dress shirt and you’d think he was being tortured. Clothes have to be soft, and no part of his body can be “hugged” too tightly.

And don’t get me started on his sensitivity to smells, light, and sounds. Yesterday, he threw away a new pack of gum that I had bought for AJ because “Gum should not be allowed in this house! I don’t want to ever smell gum again!” Oh, it’s a joy.

I was thrilled to try out a few pairs of SmartKnitKIDS socks. They even sent a pair of Big Kids Socks for me to try out. Can I just tell you how heavenly they feel on?

SmartKnit BIG kids

My kids have loved their new socks. I swear they act like they’re special slippers because they ooh and ahh when they put them on. At first, they were confused as to how to put them on because of the lack of heels. Luckily, each sock has the SmartKnit name printed on one side (that’s also helpful for ME when sorting socks!) and they can position the wording either at the top or the bottom of their foot (as shown in the above picture).

Would you like to try some SmartKnitKIDS socks for yourself or your kids? SmartKnitKIDS has offered one of my readers their choice of THREE pairs of socks!
