Huge T.A. Barron Book Giveaway

Friday, December 13, 2013 by Lolli 7 Comments

Last month, I received an amazing box full of books directly from author T.A. Barron. Not only did the box include 10 brand new books that are PERFECT for a certain boy that I know who loves reading, but it also came with 3 map posters from the books…and a letter from the author himself. To sweeten the deal, he said that I could give the same package away to one of my readers. As always, all opinions are my own.

TABarronPorch300pxAuthor T.A. Barron has 5 beautiful kids – just like me – and says that after being a dad (the best job), his 2nd favorite job is being a writer of books for young people. His books are targeted at readers ages 6 to 16, but he loves the fact that families read and enjoy his stories together, no matter what the age.

T.A. Barron is probably best known for his Merlin Saga (being made into a movie next year!), which includes 12 novels about the journey of the boy who becomes Merlin, the mage of Camelot. Barron says that his books always feature very strong female characters, motivated by his desire to provide his two daughters with compelling and strong female characters in the stories that they read. Even the Merlin Saga contains strong girl characters.

Barron says, “Another thing you’ll notice is my belief that every child – from any background or description – can be a positive force in the world, and even do something heroic. That’s why all my books center on a brave young person who has to dig deep to save themselves and the people and places they love.”

Barron’s latest book is Atlantis Rising, about the creation of the legendary city of Atlantis. Check out the trailer:

“For me, writing is exploring. Whether it’s the surprising connections among people, the wondrous patterns of nature, or the mysterious wellsprings of the spirit, the universe beckons. And I love to explore it, whether by foot or by pen.” – T.A. Barron

If you haven’t read any of my books yet, you may want to start with my three novels about a heroic young woman named Kate Gordon. The first Kate Gordon book, The Ancient One and the two that follow are about “the fragility of our environment, and the power of just one person to make a difference. She travels far and wide in these books: back in time to a lost Native American tribe in The Ancient One; to a distant galaxy to save the life of her astronomer grandfather in Heartlight; and down to the very bottom of the sea in The Merlin Effect.”

I may be giving these books to my son for Christmas, but I can’t wait to read them ALL myself!

Win a huge collection of T.A. Barron books!
