When CandyMan and I were newly married, we took our first vacation together. We drove to Yellowstone National Park and were awed by the beauty of the mountains, the wildlife, and the peacefulness. We camped out in a tent (one of the only times we’ve done that together!) and woke up to a moose walking around in front of our campsite.
Since we no longer live close to Yellowstone, we haven’t had a chance to return, but we make regular and frequent visits to the local parks in Maryland and Virginia and enjoy the beauty that is shockingly close to the city. I not only enjoy the National Parks for their spectacular views and photo opportunities, but I love escaping the daily grind (and noise!) and relaxing in a simpler place.
Since the dedication of Yellowstone as the world´s first national park in 1872, America´s parks have been visited by hundreds of millions of people who marveled at their beauty, found peace in their wildness and shared their experience with others.
However, these national treasures need care and support to help them flourish. Years of underfunding and environmental problems such as pollution and climate change are threatening our National Park system. To help preserve our national parks and ensure their existence for generations to come, join Nature Valley® and Patricia Shultz, internationally best-selling author of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die and travel industry leader, to help support the National Parks Project. This year, the National Parks Project will focus on restorative work at Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Biscayne National Parks.

We would like to visit Yosemite. I’ve heard such great things and none of us have ever been there.

Our most memorable trip was a few years back when we were camping in Yellowstone. During the night a huge bison walked by our tent and scared me to death. I thought it was a bear until it’s shadow showed up on the side of the tent. That’s the last time I’ll camp in a tent there!

My most memorable trip was when my older sister took us on a daytrip to Sequoia National Park. My younger sister and I were still kids and my older sister took us along with her kids and husband and we packed a picnic lunch and loaded up in the car and headed out. We spent the day hiking through the trails and just enjoying nature. It was amazing.

We would love to go to Yellowstone Park someday.. We are campers and hikers and this would be a good fit for us.. We are unable to go because of my husbands work schedule and money, but maybe in the future. Yellowtone is full of wildlife and beautiful scenery.
my dream trip would be to Grand Canyon with my family, as I’m the only who’s ever been there & that was in high school

I remember going to Yosemite National Park as a kid with my family. We took a motorhome, and hiked/biked around the trails. I remember how beautiful it was, and how grand the scenery looked. I hope to go back some day soon!

I know I’ve been to a park or two but was too young to care or appreciate it. The parks that are on our list to visit are Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore. We will be vacationing at Zion and Bryce this fall.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I love Yellowstone. We have been taking vacations there for over 10 years now. This past year(2009) was the first time, I was able to go with my husband for the first time since we’ve been married. Like you said, it is amazing to be so close to animals roaming free.
And finally, I like Nature Valley on Facebook. Whew!

There are SO many national parks in our area. And each is pretty memorable. Honestly when I think National Park, I think Harper’s Ferry! (Next time go in the summer we’re bringing swim suits!)
I went to a national park here when I was a wee one but I was too young to appreciate it. I wanted to know where the rides were. :-) Now that I’m older and hopefully wiser I would like to go see the Grand Canyon. I am sure it is breathtaking in person.
