Two-Headed Monster Takes Over Yogurt Shop – Give Me Your Best Shot #PSF

Thursday, May 31, 2012 by Lolli 10 Comments

I drove my mom to the airport today. Seven days with my mom is definitely not enough time, but I enjoyed every second of it. I’ll be spending the next few days trying to catch up on the tasks I’ve been avoiding while Mom and I have been off shopping and eating lunch out and watching all 17 hours of Downton Abbey , Seasons 1 and 2 (Oh my goodness, we got SO sucked into that show!).

(Just FYI – Reese was loving Grandma time. She just didn’t want to pose for me last night.)

But, really, this post is not about Downton Abbey or my mom or even a two-headed monster-child. This post is celebrating my newest arrival….A Canon 60D!

I gathered up a few things to sell on eBay a few weeks ago, and using the profits from those sales along with two $100 eBay gift cards that I won for Mother’s Day, I was able to treat myself to a new camera body – something that was sorely needed. My old 40D was well loved. Over-loved, in fact. It lived a good life, but it has been done for a while now.

I’m excited about the prospects of enjoying my camera again (and not having to rely on borrowing my husband’s all the time). As much as I love his Canon 7D, it was never mine.

I guess that’s a long way of saying that I enjoyed taking pictures again this week. That’s something to celebrate. Even if I’m mourning the departure of my mom.

Hahaha look at those silly kids! Time with your mom I’m sure flies by. I haven’t seen my mom in over a year and a half and sure miss her. She has been absent in our life because of her mental illness which breaks my heart. Hooray for a new camera. You have inspired me to finally sell our old barely used baby monitors. Never done ebay but may have to try it. Need some money if I want to get to BlogHer!
