When Kids Pick The Neighbors’ Flowers

Wednesday, March 24, 2010 by Lolli 23 Comments

Say thank you, with a kiss.
Put them in a vase on the kitchen table.
Tell them not to pick the neighbor’s flowers anymore!!

The Neighbor's Daffodils

And then pray that the neighbors don’t look in the window.

I remember picking the neighbors flowers as a child – and having her come out and yell at me. They were just so pretty and tempting. What a different approach I would take if a child picked the flowers in my garden – kindness, understanding, and a gentle reprimand is really all that it takes. I know it would have meant a lot to me.

Catchy dilemma and solution. If I were the neighbor, I think I’d smile. I hope your neighbor does the same.

Luckily our neighbors are nice and have kids, too. For all I know, they think their kids picked the flowers!

  15. Lolli says

    Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 12:24 pm

That’s right. They would have died soon, anyway! :) And they probably have a similar vase in their kitchen, too.

  16. Lolli says

    Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 12:23 pm

I just hope there were enough that the neighbors didn’t notice the missing flowers. :)

  17. Lolli says

    Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 12:22 pm

No, they really don’t. And they only thought of how pretty the flowers were, not how pretty the flowers were IN THE NEIGHBOR’S GARDEN. ;)
