I think I’ve mentioned a time or two that four nights in the hospital kinda messed up most of our Spring Break plans. Luckily, I have an awesome sister who stepped in and redeemed the last few days of the week. Not only did she take my four younger kids for 2 1/2 days (where she treated them to Chocolate World. It pays to have family in a town built on chocolate), but she took over the entire Easter dinner for all 12 of us.
Hershey just happens to have the most beautiful hill for an Easter Egg hunt, and I think this year may have been our best hunt ever. Somehow we ended up with multiplying eggs (how did we have so many?!) and acres of grassy hills (with a gorgeous view) to scatter them.
The only one to not participate in the Easter Egg hunt was KitKat, who was still recovering from her surgery and sat in the warm car instead. There were plenty of kids willing to share their extra candies with her, so she was perfectly happy to sit this one out.
Even the two dads seemed to have a fun time while the kids ran around collecting eggs.
PS – the story behind the picture of my husband and my sister from the Wordless Wednesday post is this: CandyMan was cold and hadn’t brought his jacket to the hill so he grabbed my sister’s jacket and tried to put it on, looking very silly in his efforts. A few minutes later, my sister got cold, went looking for her coat, and found it on CandyMan. She grabbed her daughter’s coat and tried to squeeze into it. Together, they looked like quite a pair…and of course they were more than willing to ham it up for the camera.
Did you do an egg hunt this year?

YAY for sisters who step in and save the day (or week)!
I do love the way good light makes Easter egg hunting look just a little more magical. (:
I can totally see that last shot going into a family slide show someday. Heh.

We did do an Easter Hunt but it had to be inside as the weather was not playing ball.

My parents live in hershey and my 4-year-old daughter thinks Chocolate World is the best place on the planet. I don’t know where that hill is, but it sure looks like fun! We only had a kind-of lame ee hunt at church in the gym this year, because it was cold and rainy. Boo.
