What is IT?
Spring, of course!
After being cooped up in our house for MONTHS, we’ve finally had some warmer temperatures. The snow if melting and we’re heading outside.
The kids were ecstatic about riding their bikes to the park. Can you tell on their faces? I just love that you can see the last patches of unmelted snow still on the grass behind the pathway to the park.
Isn’t it funny how warm 65 degrees feels after the 30s? I was slightly reprimanded yesterday (by Daddy) when I “allowed” a few of the children to wear shorts outside. They felt fabulous. A few months from now, when the 80s and 90s are the norm, 65 will feel freezing. But for now, it feels heavenly.

I love the dirty knees! They look so happy and boy do we know how they feel! We’ve had warmer weather and our snow is also starting to melt….. yay spring!

I’m so glad spring is right around the corner! Spring and Autumn are my favorite times of year and I just LOVE that one of them is upon us again.

I’m loving the warmth here too! I keep telling myself in just a few short weeks the 50’s will feel freezing, but for now it’s awesome. I’m completely done with winter and praying it’s done with us. :)

I too love the happy cyclist with the muddy knees! But then again I have two boys myself, so we see a lot of dirty clothes around here!

It’s SO close! I’m sure we’ll cool off a few more times before we warm up for good. But it’s only getting better, right?
I haven’t seen smiles so joyous in a long time. There’s something about running around and getting dirty that makes kids completely happy.

“Just the way he was”…because that’s what childhood is really like, isn’t it? It’s about playing in the dirt and running around outside until you smell like wet dogs. Ahh…childhood!
When I told him it was time to go home, he approached me with a nervous look on his face because of the muddy knees. I loved it. Like you guys, it made me smile. Now if they had been good pants, I might have felt differently…

My kitchen clock still has the spring forward time ~ so it will finally be correct! I ‘used’ to collect clocks, until I got tired of changing them every spring and fall. Oh your kids will love the extra light and so will your camera. Time for pedicures!

It’s so true. 65 degrees feels like swimming weather after freezing cold, wind, and snow. I’ll enjoy this til the real humid heat wave hits.

I have been enjoying going out without a coat. Next step for me….SANDALS!! I was born to go sock-less.
I noticed that on the calendar. I’m sure my kids will be happy for that. Reese keeps asking if she can play outside again after dinner. Um, not when it gets dark between 6 and 6:30!
Along with the buds and leaves and flowers, my desire to pull out my camera more often also grows in the Spring. There’s something about LIFE and COLOR that screams “Take a picture!!”
He was Yahoo-ing all the way down the path! He was loving it!!
I’m glad you appreciated the dirty knees. Now that I look at those pictures, it makes me wonder where in the laundry those pants are. With my luck they’ve already gone through the washer and dryer and ended up stained. Oh well. Happy memories. :)

I was just thinking today that I was treating 65 degrees like it was a heat wave, but it really feels like it after the winter we have had! I love the shorts- I bet that they were so excited to break them out! :)
Those are great shots. It is amazing how warm anything over 40 feels right now, I was half tempted to pull out capris today.
I think shorts are A OK! I mean, we have to savor this! With our luck Lolli, we will be getting another snow storm by the end of March :)

The dirty knees just MAKE those shots for me. I love it when something screams KIDNESS like that.
It was in the 40s here today and Evie and I spent an hour outside in just long sleeves. If it was in the 40s on the flip side of the season we’d be in gloves and parkas! :)
