My kids and I traditionally decorate our Christmas tree together each December. This year, however, we took decorating the Christmas tree to a whole new level and created something that we will hopefully be keeping around as a Christmas decoration for years to come.
We were sent a recycled cardboard Christmas tree from Cascades Boutique (in white) that we were able to decorate ourselves. The tree included 8 panels, which fit our family of seven plus Grandpa (who was in town when it arrived) perfectly. Each person was tasked with one panel to decorate, and each person added their own signature and age to their section of the tree.
Here’s a little background on Cascades Christmas Trees:
Christmas trees epitomize the holidays, but each and every year, a great many real and artificial Christmas trees end up at the dump. This year, we invite one and all to choose Christmas trees made from 100% recycled cardboard, an alternative that leaves but a small ecological footprint behind. These revolutionary trees are cut from high quality cardboard, are made of recycled fibers and are as much fun as they are beautiful. When purchased in white, they become a canvas on which to unleash your holiday imagination -young and old can decorate them as they wish.
Made with 100% recycled fibers, the Cascades Christmas Tree is FSC® certified. The raw materials used to manufacture the tree come from the urban forest – your recycling bins – and do not contain any trace of virgin fibers. Resistant enough to reuse for several years, this tree can thus end its life where it began: in your recycling bin.
As much fun as the tree has been to display in my house this past week, the best part about our Cascade Christmas Tree was creating it together. Admittedly, it did take us hours to decorate, but there was no complaining during any of those hours. Instead, decorating our new tree with Grandpa will undoubtedly remain the highlight of our Holiday season this year.
Yes, the kids look forward to putting the ornaments up on our Christmas tree each December, but how brightly will these memories of this Christmas shine in their minds in the future?
Brightly.

Disclosure: I was sent a Cascades Christmas Tree (Classico model in white) to review. There is no way you can fake the happiness in these pictures, though. It was the family Christmas best project ever!

My daughter and I spent some time making crafts that included coloring and painting. It was a wonderful bonding experience. This would make our Christmas even more special. Checking to see if they have any other holiday crafts as well.

When I saw the title of your post I knew what this would be! The tree turned out amazing! I loved all the photos and LOVED the video. Anything that brings the family together like that is what Christmas is all about. The kids will love looking at their artwork every Christmas!

When I first saw the picture at the top of your post, I thought it was small, maybe a foot tall. It’s really big!
This looks like a super fun project to do. You all did a great job! :)
