Peanut Butter came out of the kitchen chuckling this morning. He said that he’d walked in the kitchen to find Apple with his head tilted back, pouring an envelope of powdered vanilla instant breakfast into his mouth. PB said to him, “Hmm…Pure sugar!” Apple said, “No…Vanilla!” It got me thinking about my comment yesterday about…
Report Cards
I have to have a quick proud mom moment…Kiwi got her first middle school report card back today. Straight A’s! Not only did she get awesome grades, but she is taking all honors classes, including a high-school credit Spanish class. Yay Kwi! Noodle has improved tons this year! Last year, she struggling with reading, and…
The good, the bad, & the ugly
I did it! I exercised today! I felt great afterwards (halfway through the workout I couldn’t say the same). It was a success, and I feel positive. We had a good dinner, everybody finished their homework without a fight, and the kids helped me fold laundry while we watched an episode of Little House together….
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker {Spoiler-Free Review}
I was invited, along with my husband and a theater-full of local press, to see an early screening of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Things to be happy about
I needed to write something happy so I didn’t go to bed feeling down after my last post…So here are two things that I am happy about today. First, Kiwi has been looking for a long-term “job” at home that she could do to earn a school sweatshirt. I finally came up with something yesterday…
Motivation
Well, guys, I need some help. I was doing a pretty good job meeting my exercise goal (I really want to look and feel good when I leave on my cruise in December). I had a great routine down–I exercised to videos 4 days a week after Reese left for preschool and Apple went down…
Happy Halloween!
Halloween was fun this year…The best part of the day was the moment that I realized that this was the first time in 7 years that I was not a room mother, in charge of the parties. What a liberating feeling! I was able to relax and enjoy the school’s costume parade (it seemed so…
You’ve got to see this!
I apologize for posting two videos in a row, but I caught this Halloween dance last night and just had to share. We have a CD of Halloween Party music, and the kids have not wanted to listen to anything else all week. Even Apple asks for “Mon’ter Mash.” Twizzler was SO serious about his…
Up above the world so high….
Apple loves to do puzzles, and spends the majority of his time putting them together. It is always a hoot to sit back and watch–and listen to!–him while he works, because he sings and talks to himself. He even makes up his own songs (what a talented 2-year-old) Hilarious! Today, he was singing “Twinkle, Twinkle…
Kid math
Here’s a simple addition fact that just occurred to me: 1 mom + 5 kids does not equal 6. Most of the time it comes out to a lot more than that. Somehow kids seem to multiply. Where there are a few kids, a few more will show up. Now, I’m not complaining. I love…
