Batman and the UPS Man: Heros

Sunday, April 11, 2010 by Lolli 8 Comments

The other day, an enormous package came in the mail while the big kids were in school.

How often do kids get surprises like this from the UPS man (who, by the way, happens to be AJ’s hero)?

Not very often. (Just for fun, I found this old post, from October 2008. AJ is dressed up as Batman AND a UPS man. Not at the same time)

Batman Rain Gear

Can you tell how excited he was?

Batman Rain Gear

Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Washington Shoe Company are unleashing the ultimate Bat-gadget this rainy season with a rain collection inspired by the favorite super hero, Batman. This collection is available at Nordstrom’s nationwide as well as select specialty stores.

And, let me tell you…..AJ thought the whole get-up was AWESOME. He loved getting all dressed up in Batman Rain Jacket with removable cape, Rain Boots, and umbrella and posing for me on our sunny front steps. (Note: He wasn’t wearing the cape in these first pictures. Now, the cape is his favorite part!)

Although it wasn’t raining when we received the package, it has rained plenty since then, and we’ve been able to put it to very good use. Perhaps my favorite part about the set is that the boots are tall enough and the jacket is long enough that AJ is practically covered from head to toe.

The best part, though, was when we had to go pick the kids up from school that afternoon. AJ wore his Batman rain gear and walked down the hall at the elementary school, cape flying. Boys in the hall were Oohing and Ahhing and whispering “Wo! Look at Batman!”

AJ was beaming. Simply beaming with pride. He LOVED the attention.

And now he asks to wear his Batman Rain Gear almost every time we got out. I love it because of it’s great quality (this is not the flimsy plastic rain coat that I am used to. The coat and boots both have a very nice, soft but strong liner). The umbrella is sturdy and perfectly sized for a child, and it’s easy enough for AJ to put up and down himself.

We love it. This passed the test at our house for sure.

And the neighbor kids are all green with envy.

Check out the Batman rain gear items at Nordstrom’s:

Western Chief ‘Batman’ Raincoat $44.95

Western Chief ‘Batman’ Novelty Umbrella $14.95

Western Chief ‘Batman’ Novelty Rain Boot $32.95

And while you’re there, check out the other rain gear available!

Disclaimer: AJ and I received this Batman rain gear from Team Mom and Warner Brothers for review. But there is no way that those 4 year old smiles could be faked.

This was an adorable find for me this morning. When I saw your photo in the updates, I could have thought that this was my little man :) but we do not have the Batman Raingear. Your photos are great.
