The Best Way to Occupy a Bored Boy – Wordless Wednesday Linky

Tuesday, September 6, 2011 by Lolli 33 Comments

Have a little boy who is complaining of being bored?

I have a simple solution.

Give him a hammer and nails and a bunch of scrap wood and stick him out in the backyard for 2 or 3 hours.

(OK, you might want to keep an eye on him with those hammer and nails….)

PS – when we asked him what he had made he answered, “I don’t know!” But he sure is having fun with it!

PPS – Yes, he IS wearing a Handy Manny t-shirt. And, yes, he did lose his first tooth last week. Isn’t that space in his smile adorable?

I love this! My dad used to do that with me and old electronics. He would say, here go into the “shop” and take this apart. I loved doing that!

That is an awesome idea. I just need to find some scrap wood, now. :)

And I love his little smile! I have a seven year old with both front teeth missing…how quickly those little holes fill in!

Lolli he has the most gorgeous color eyes! I bet my boys would have a lot of fun if I have them a hammer & nails, thinking I may need to go find some scrap wood somewhere for them. They are always complaining they are bored.

How cute! Look at how proud he is of his handiwork. It reminds me of that song…”If I had a hammer, I’d hammer in the morning. I’d hammer in the evening, all of this land.” lol

I am thinking that your hammer and nail guy needs to meet my scotch lady gal. We would be in serious trouble! :)

My tot would totally go for this, but it would call for disaster. He has to wait some more years and he’s going to be our own private carpenter. You’ll see. ;-)
