Bounce House

Tuesday, May 18, 2010 by Lolli 12 Comments

I’ve noticed that when I plan birthday parties ahead and send out cute little invitations, no one can come.
But when I decide at the last minute (say Sunday afternoon) to throw a quick and simple party (on Tuesday morning) everyone is available.

When KitKat mentioned to her friends that AJ was having a birthday party today, one of them asked, “Who is he inviting? Does he even have any friends?”

He does, indeed, have friends, and today he had a blast with them.

We set the moon bounce up in the family room (it was wet outside) and set the egg timer for everybody to get a turn (or two) to bounce.

And we fed them second. The house was messy (it cleaned up fast), I was full with hot dogs and cupcakes, I didn’t get much else done today, but I had a little five year old who was pretty darn happy at the end of the day.

It was totally worth it.

What terrific fun! Maybe the “everyone’s busy” thing is because they think they have to shop for gifts or what not? Where as last minute they have an excuse to just pick something up quick or not bring one at all.

It is always the unplanned stuff that winds up being the best.
