According to the Environmental Protection Association (EPA), typical household cleaning products and air fresheners are one of the leading contributors to poor indoor air quality. The agency reports that poor indoor air quality can lead to health issues; animals have faster metabolisms and smaller lungs than humans, and not only are they processing these chemicals at a faster rate, they are also breathing them in more rapidly. Because animals are closer to the ground, they are more often in direct contact with these harmful substances. The same could be said about little children!

I was thrilled to accept some samples of Clean+Green eco-friendly (and pet-and-child-friendly!) cleaners to test in my house.

Heaven knows I need help cleaning.

And although I don’t have any pets, I certainly have enough little ones running around to be concerned about the safety of the chemicals and cleaners I use. Especailly considering I’m actively teaching THEM to do the cleaning.

I have always considered myself relatively “green.” Growing up, I was taught to conserve, to reuse, and later, to recycle. I have been known to reach in the garbage to pull out a recyclable item because it irks me to throw it away.

But I never thought much about eco-friendly cleaners.

Oh, and as an added bonus, my kids LOVE the bottles. They call them “Chihuahua cleaner” and “Golden Retriever cleaner” and think they’re so cool.

  2. Do you still purchase these cleaners and use them around your home? Are you pleased with the products? I’m doing some research about alternative cleaners and products like Norwex that are just used with water, and would love to hear your input!

  115. Definately the PET STAIN AND ODOR REMOVER. I have dogs and it’s inevitable there will be an accident (or 2). I would love to try an eco friendly product. I’m slowly trying to convert to healthier choices.
