Day 6 — Meet the Bakers?

Thursday, November 6, 2008 by Lolli Leave a Comment

Let me introduce you to my family. We might look familiar, but some things have changed. On the left is my oldest daughter, Kiwi (NOW KitKat). In my husband’s lap is my youngest son, Apple. Smack dab in the middle is my kindergartener, Reese. Next comes my first born son, Taco, and my beautiful tom-boy, Noodle. I am the Chef, and I’ve been married to Peanut Butter for 13 1/2 years now.

I’ve been getting a little bit more blog traffic lately (which I absolutely LOVE!)….so in an effort to preserve my public blog and protect my cute kids, I have given everyone new names. I was chatting with my friend, Safire, today and we discussed many name possibilities. I thought about their at-home nicknames (a few of my kids don’t really have nicknames and I was worried that my faithful readers would have a hard time catching on to who’s who). I thought about middle names (again, who’s who?) and numbers (boring!).

I settled on this option–food names that are easy to associate with my kids–HINT–look at the 1st letter of the nicknames!

1) Kiwi was perfect–I thought (now that she has given me her opinion, her name form here on out is KitKat),
2) Noodle was my favorite (although SHE said, “Nacho would have been better for me”),
3) Ketchup would have been a better fit for Taco, but I wanted to stick with the pattern.
4) I liked Reese (think peanut butter cups!) better than radish or rice
5) I liked Apple better than Artichoke for the little guy.

Peanut Butter is the name of the Big Guy’s lanuguage learning software (language learning that STICKS!), and since I’m the one that holds everyone together, I figured I’d be the Chef (sorry, no coorelation to our real names here)

I know that it will take a little getting used to, but….well, it’s too late now!
