Call me crazy….I took the kids to DC again today. We thought it was a great idea to check out the annual Cherry Blossom festival on their day off school. Unfortunately, the “14%” chance of rain turned into a very wet, cold day. We rode the metro down to the city, and then walked from the metro to the Jefferson Memorial. By the time we got there, the kids were ready to eat lunch and then go home. No–I’m wrong. After lunch, the kids enjoyed their favorite part of the adventure–warming their hands with the hand dryer in the Jefferson Memorial’s bathroom! Yes, the hand dryer restored the smiles on their faces and kept them going a little longer. It was a pretty short trip, but it was great to get outside, and the cherry blossoms were beautiful, despite the blah white-gray skies (I kept thinking how much better everything would look against blue skies!).
Reese was Anie’s little shadow–on the metro and all through DC!
Pretty blossoms!
Can you see the joy on their faces? This was after lunch and before the amazing hand warmers!)
Yes, I pulled my camera out in the bathroom (we were the only ones in the family bathroom…I don’t think I would’ve had the nerve if there were other people around!)

I swear I brush Reese’s hair everyday. Wearing hats has a way of messing up her style!
