Do I need a haircut?

Thursday, January 24, 2008 by Lolli Leave a Comment

Do you ever wake up from a dream that bothers you for the rest of the day? That was me this morning. What is it about certain dreams? PB laughed out loud when I told him about the dream that was keeping me distracted while I got the kids ready for school today. Here it is. Ready?

In my dream, I was walking along a busy sidewalk with stores and vendors everywhere (woohoo! Shopping!). I approached a vendor whose huge kiosk had lost power and their desserts were melting or in danger of going bad (did I mention that it was a high-class bakery vendor?). SO….they were handing out huge servings of their soon-to-perish desserts for free. I got right up there. Chocolate! People kept cutting in front of me, and I was ticked that the guy giving out the sweets didn’t notice that I’d been waiting for so long. Finally, I spoke up. “I’ve been waiting for 5 minutes. Can I have one?”

The guy looked at me, gave me a smug chuckle, turned around to grab something, and then handed me two cards. I looked down and saw two $5 certificates for a nice salon. Surprized, I looked back at him and he said, “Get a haircut,” and turned back to the next person in line.

Get a haircut? Boy do I have problems. The sad part is that it really bugged me all morning. I’m not sure if I was more annoyed about the haircut comment or the fact that I didn’t get the triple chocolate cake.
