Don’t Miss These New Disney Trailers {Pete’s Dragon and Moana}

Tuesday, June 14, 2016 by Lolli 4 Comments

I’m excited to share the new Disney trailers for Pete’s Dragon and Moana with you guys! The following information has been provided by Disney, but no compensation has been received. Photos are all ©Disney

Pete's Dragon

Pete’s Dragon Trailer

I grew up with the original Pete’s Dragon (in fact, I had the soundtrack and book and everything. I knew that story inside and out!). So I was especially excited to hear that Disney “reimagined” the story of Pete’s Dragon (it appears that the Gogans are not in the new version…I was always afraid of them when I was little!). Check out the trailer:

About Pete’s Dragon:

For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliot. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliot seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories.

Pete's Dragon

With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon. Disney’s “Pete’s Dragon” opens in U.S. theaters on August 12, 2016.

NEW Moana Trailer

I can’t wait for Moana to hit theaters later this fall (November 23, to be exact!). The trailer looks SO good!

About Moana:

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why.

Moana

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.

What movies are you looking forward to seeing in theaters this year?

    The Pete’s Dragon looks like a good movie and it will be different after looking at the trailer. I think we would love to see this in the theater!

    As far as I can tell, it’s not a musical, which makes me sad because I LOVE the music from the original Pete’s Dragon!

    Wow, I didn’t know they were doing a remake of Pete’s Dragon! I wonder if they’re going to remake the songs or have completely new ones.
