End of the year @ school

Sunday, June 8, 2008 by Lolli Leave a Comment

So much happens during the last couple of weeks of school! We have been super busy doing lots of fun things. On Friday, each of my kids at the Elementary School had class activities going on in the afternoon, and by some miracle, I was able to make ALL of them. Reese had a little Pre-K concert and party. Pizza and cake for lunch! Yipee! Reese had a fabulous teacher this year. I feel so lucky to have gotten her into this fabulous program at our home school.
Taco’s class did a very entertaining performance of the Little Red Hen. Taco was a chicken. I could tell the 1st graders had a blast putting on this play.
I slipped out quickly after Taco’s class was done to run over to Noodle’s room, where her class was putting on 4 short plays (about 10 minutes a piece). The other 3 3rd grade classes were also crammed into her room to watch. Why they didn’t move to the cafeteria, I don’t know. It was HOT and stuffy with all of those bodies in one room. Apple and I were the only family members present. I was impressed that Apple stayed still for so long, but when he finally grew tired of watching the plays, Noodle’s math teacher took Apple out for a walk. So nice!

Noodle’s group was the last to perform, and I am NOT being biased when I say that Noodle totally out-shined the rest of the class. Where most of the other kids read their lines from the script, Noodle had all of her lines memorized and said them with attitude, expression, and gusto! At the end of each play, the viewers had a chance to make 3 compliments. All of the comments for her group were directed towards how well she did. I was so proud, and so happy that I was there to see her SHINE!

Here she is in the costume that she came up with for her part as the warthog in “Who-Who’s Afraid of the Dark.”
