Flashback to My Childhood – Wordless Wednesday #Linky

Tuesday, July 24, 2012 by Lolli 17 Comments

While we were in upstate New York last week, we found a cozy little park where we stopped, ate lunch, and played on the old-time playground equipment. While the slide and see saws and merry-go-round wouldn’t stand a chance in Montgomery County, Maryland, where I am right now, they sure brought me back to my own childhood days playing at the park.

And there was only one skinned knee out of 14. I think we did pretty well.

That looks like a really fun playground, we don’t have those types of things at parks around here! I guess they consider them too dangerous these days. :(

We have a merry go round like that down the end of our street. The kids love taking turns riding and pushing it around. We have see saws, too, though they’re older and a bit heavy for the little ones.

More playgrounds need merry-go-rounds and see saws. It’s a shame our kids don’t know how to skirt danger like we did. I love that you took a moment to play like we did in the good ol’ days. :-)

LOVE the pictures of the Merry-go-round!

You seriously never see them around here anymore! I guess too much of the old equipment has been deemed too “dangerous”, which makes me kind of sad because it was SO fun!

One of our local parks has a merry-go-round just like that one. It terrifies me with my 4-year goes on it, but he as so much fun.
