Frozen Chocolate-Covered Banana Wafers

Monday, May 12, 2014 by Lolli 5 Comments

I created these little sweet treats two years ago for a cookie brand and never posted them here on my site (this post is not sponsored at all though). The time has come to share these simple but delicious frozen chocolate-covered banana wafers with you!

Frozen Chocolate Covered Banana Wafers - a quick and easy bite-sized dessert recipe that is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth!

One of the best things about these desserts are that they come bite-sized. You can make a big batch for a party or dip a few slices of banana for a quick satisfying of your sweet tooth.

Ingredients
  • Chocolate for melting (chocolate chips work just fine)
  • Bananas
  • Vanilla Wafer Cookies
Instructions
  1. Melt chocolate according to package directions – about 2 ounces of chocolate per whole banana.
  2. Slice banana(s).
  3. Dip each banana slice into melted chocolate.
  4. Place the chocolate-covered banana slice on top of a vanilla wafer.
  5. Place cookies with chocolate-covered bananas on a large plate or tray in the freezer.
  6. Enjoy these bite-sized treats straight from the freezer or let them thaw slightly. These also store well in the refrigerator.
Notes
To make the chocolate even more creamy for dipping, mix in a small amount of shortening when melting the chocolate. I would recommend 2 Tablespoons per bag of chocolate chips.

yummy! Love chocolate covered bananas so the addition of a cookie is a nice bonus. I think I would use dark chocolate. Thanks for an easy dessert recipe that will hit the spot!

As soon as I saw the word banana, I went ape! I love bananas, and I think this is going to be my new favorite treat – summery bliss, a perfect dessert – small enough to be guilt free, and doesn’t take long to prepare. So cute, too, I’d love to make this for a gaggle of kids!
