Future Friendly with Tide and P&G

Tuesday, May 31, 2011 by Lolli 1 Comment

I do a LOT of laundry at my house. I was hoping that laundry would slow down after my babies grew up and stopped having twice-daily blow-outs, but I have been disappointed in that regard. Sadly, as kids get bigger, so do their clothes AND their messes. The laundry seems to keep growing, and so far I have not found an end to it.

Last month, the P&G Future Friendly program sent me two future friendly products to try with my family – Ultra Tide concentrated formula for the laundry and Cascade Action Packs for the dishwasher.

With Cascade Action Packs, there is no need to pre-wash your dishes, which can save you up to 2,600 gallons of water per year. The new “sustainably manufactured” concentrated formula of Tide laundry detergent uses 24% less packaging, which leaves you with less to throw away when the box is finished. Both products are taking small steps to help us all be Future Friendly….and I love that!

Cleaning the laundry is my favorite part of the laundry process, and scent and effectiveness are SUPER important. Luckily, Tide meets my standards!

I love that I can use LESS detergent with Tide’s concentrated formula, and that it does the job just as well! Like I said, I do a LOT of laundry. While I’m not going to be able to reduce the amount of laundry we go through, I can definitely use less detergent by using Tide’s concentrated formula.

Although I didn’t get pictures of my dishes, I have an amazing testimonial for Cascade Action Packs. I loved using them – it’s so easy to just drop a single pack in the detergent door. My dishes were clean, but that’s what I expect when I wash my dishes. After the Cascade bag ran out, though, we went back to our old powder. And suddenly, I started hearing, “Mom, are these spoons clean? They’re all spotty. They look dirty!” Yes, we noticed the difference in how clean and shiny our dishes looked after we ran out.

Guess what I got at the store this morning? That’s right – Action Packs!

Future Friendly is a program that empowers consumers to save energy, save water and reduce waste, using science, innovation and unique partnerships to help achieve meaningful environmental impacts. The Future Friendly program is a direct extension of P&G’s long-term commitment and disciplined, science-based approach to environmental innovation. Through the program, P&G is better able to share these solutions with consumers so they can realize the same benefits in their own homes. By taking small steps together with its consumers, P&G believes it can help create big benefits for the planet and ultimately improve lives every day, now and for generations to come.

Disclosure: I received a full size box of Concentrated Ultra Tide to use as well as a package of Cascade Action Packs from P&G Future Friendly, through my association with SheSpeaks. My experiences, as always, are my own and not motivated by monetary or product compensation.

PS – Please disregard my old dungeon of a basement. The rest of my house really IS civilized.

PPs – Reese, my 8 year old, was the designated picture-taker. She thought it was quite hilarious that I was asking her to take pictures doing the laundry….especially when she caught a shot of me holding up her underwear. How embarrassing!

    Hi there,

You got yourself a future photographer. :D

It’s really nice to hear that big companies are doing their part for a eco-friendly environment. I also use tide in my Laundry. Until now, Tide has never failed to amuse me.
