One of the highlights of our recent road trip was visiting the Grand Canyon for the very first time. Since we were driving in via Mesquite, Nevada, we headed toward the North Rim (which is the less-busy side) and absolutely fell in love.
I would have loved to stay in the Grand Canyon for several days so that we could take our time hiking all of the trails and soaking up the incredible peace that we felt there. Honestly, the Grand Canyon was different than I expected – I was expecting a busy, noisy touristy place. What we found was calm and quiet and pure beauty.
Here are just a few of the views that we caught in the half day that we were there.
We explored a few trails and overlooks…but I think our favorite place was a little stone room and window underneath the lodge. It was cool – a welcome relief from the heat – and it had a breathtaking view. I loved being there with my family – although I do think I would have been beside myself with worry if I had been there with little kids.
Someday I hope to visit the South Rim so that I can compare the two locations. Have you been to the Grand Canyon?
Show me your photo posts from this past week. What have you captured lately?
