I’ll admit – as much as I love candy (I really do. It’s bad) I’ve never really gotten the hype over Halloween. I’ve never been one to go all out with costumes (most years I just let my kids pick something from the stash of costumes I keep in the attic), although last year I was pretty proud of the last minute Phineas and Ferb themed costumes we threw together.
This year, though, was one of those scramble-the-day-before-Halloween to find suitable costumes to wear.
Luckily, the two youngest found perfect costumes to wear – an hunk-of-a-Batman and an adorable red-haired witch (thanks to the Merida wig I got on my press trip to the premiere of Disney/Pixar’s Brave).
The bigger kids don’t get to dress up for Halloween at school anymore, but at night they were a ninja, a cowboy, and Morgana from the tv show Merlin (a family favorite). It was crazy to see my almost-16-year-old daughter wearing the medieval style dress I bought myself several years ago (note: there’s no way I could zip it up anymore…). I’m kicking myself for not getting a photo of her wearing it.
Here are a few of the photos from the Halloween class parties and parade.

My goodness…what a school day! We did the create a costume thing as well but it sounds like your attic is better stocked :-)
So cool being able to celebrate Halloween in school. Love the pictures.
I think it is awesome that your kids get to dress up for school. When I was a kid we got to, but my kids don’t, it’s not allowed here. :(
What great costumes they had!
I don’t really get it either. The kids love it, but for me it’s just another weird mom-stress thing. I should probably get over that. :)
Looks like it was fun…I’m not a Halloween person, either!
What a fun teacher!
