Happy 4th of July!

Monday, July 4, 2011 by Lolli 7 Comments

Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays! Why? Because I LOVE the USA!

(Plus, the fact that the kids don’t expect candy or presents when they wake up on the morning of July 4th is a HUGE plus now that I’m a mom)

We woke up early this morning to attend the annual 4th of July breakfast with friends from church. The little kids and I were a hit with the red-white-and-blue hats that I crocheted last night.

Later today, we’ll enjoy some time at the pool…

And then fireworks tonight! It’s the best kind of day. Happy birthday, America!

PS – I put a linky up on 5 Minutes for Mom this morning. So if you’ve got a 4th of July post, too, go link up and share!

PPS – Just for fun, I’m sharing the people pics on I Heart Faces’ Red White and Blue challenge this week.

Those hats are so adorable I can’t believe you made them the night before. It would probably take me a year ;) I am too thankful it is one of the holiday’s where children don’t expect presents.

Love the hats you made, too cute!

I hadn’t really thought about the fact that there isn’t an expectation of gifts or candy for the kiddos today. It is a nice treat that I didn’t have to run around like a chicken with my head cut off to make things “just so”. We all could just wake up and enjoy the day together as a family.

Thanks for setting up the Linky.
