It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Summer #PSF

Thursday, June 4, 2015 by Lolli 3 Comments

It’s crazy to me how fast we have transitioned from spring to summer. The kids are still in school for a week and a day, so really I just feel like we’re dealing with spring AND summer at the same time. School and homework PLUS swim team til 6:15 everyday. And the heat. Oh! The heat. We’ve had so many days of stuffy, stifling heat that have made my upstairs (where I sleep and work) stuffy and stifling. I’ve been surviving with 2-3 fans blowing on me all day long.

I am thrilled for the summer schedule – I’m happy to swap hanging out at the pool with a book for waking up early to play the carpool game. I’m excited for our summer plans – a second cross country road trip and lots of time with extended family. I’m excited to spend more time with my kids – this school year has been particularly busy and draining. I’ve been distracted and occupied and stressed. I’m looking forward to using these next few months to refocus and reconnect.

But there’s an element of stress in the welcoming of summer, too. How am I going to get any work done with all the kids at home? Even scarier…how am I going to get any work done while we’re on the road for 5 weeks? There’s so much to do to prepare for our trip and my to-do list before our departure date is daunting (and to make it even more exciting, I am fitting an out-of-state wedding into the schedule in 2 weeks, 3 days after the kids get out of school).

I anticipate having MORE pictures to show you in the coming months because I’ll be getting out from behind my computer once again, staying active with my kids, and capturing it all on my phone.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like summer….and that seems to be a mostly GOOD thing. I’ll take it.

Here’s a peek at the past week. There will be lots more of this in the coming months…I guarantee it.

We are so excited for summer this year, we have so much planned for the kids, mostly involving traveling. We are heading out of state, hitting some water parks, beaches and lakes, and festivals. The weather has been so nice lately too, and we have been enjoying the outdoors so much.
