What is Language Stars?
Language Stars is play-based, full-immersion foreign language classes that open children’s minds to new worlds. Toddlers, pre-schoolers and K-5th graders benefit from an early start, during a unique window of opportunity when their young brains absorb the magic of another language and culture easily and rapidly. The Language Stars program is available for children ages 1 – 10. There are 7 centers in the DC area.
Language Stars classes are taught entirely in Spanish, French, Mandarin, or German and include:
Parents & Tots (Ages 1-3) – Learn along with your child in our Parents & Tots program! Your child, along with a caregiver or parent, will participate in a collaborative class, building on foundational vocabulary each week.
Kids Only (Ages 3-5, 5-8, 8-10) – Watch your child progress to fluency with the full immersion Kids Only classes! Progress tracking and individualized instruction ensure results for your child every step of the way.
Summer Camps (Ages 3-8) – Language Stars summer programs combine the features of their curriculum with outdoor options for summer fun! Weekly camps throught the summer, week-long camps, as well as a la carte options allow you to fit foreign language into your busy schedule.
The value of foreign language learning:
We are huge believers in the value of foreign language learning (we have to be with a husband/dad who knows 17+ languages and develops foreign language learning software!). Just this morning, AJ, my almost-8-year-old, was quizzing me on how to answer a question in Urdu: “Ap kahan se hain?” He has fantastic pronunciation (confirmed after conversing with some Pakistani friends) and has been able to count and read letters in Urdu for a few years now. I know that these language skills will benefit him someday!
So remember….if you’re in the area, check out the Language Stars Gaithersburg centers’ birthday celebration Thursday, May 2 at 5:00 PM. If you can’t make the birthday bash, then be sure to schedule a FREE TRIAL CLASS another time!
