Mezzaluna Ravioli at the Olive Garden #DinnerToday Dinner Tomorrow

Tuesday, October 16, 2012 by Lolli 2 Comments

*Copycat recipe coming very soon!*

Sometimes my job has some really, really enjoyable perks.

Take last Tuesday, for instance. I HAD to take my husband out for a dinner date at the Olive Garden. It certainly didn’t take much to convince him to join me for an Italian meal out on the town on a Tuesday night.

I have to tell you – when we got to the Olive Garden (on a Tuesday night, remember) there was a 15 minute wait. CandyMan and I were surprised by how many people were out on a Tuesday night, but we were happy to wait. We pulled out our iPads and read our books while we waited for our buzzer to light up. I had to laugh when the older ladies next to us said something about “everyone with all of their electronics…”

Our dinner started with Hot Artichoke-Spinach Dip. Yum! It was a perfect beginning to our dinner. Our appetizer was followed by Olive Garden’s classic house salad and warm breadsticks.

I ordered one of the Dinner Today & Dinner Tomorrow entrees. I had 5 dishes to chose from:

  • Five Cheese Ziti al Forno
  • Spaghetti with Four Cheese Meat Sauce
  • Lasagna Rollatini with Meat Sauce
  • Fettuccine Alfredo
  • Mezzaluna Ravioli with Five Cheese Marinara

I decided to try the Mezzaluna Ravioli and oh-my-goodness it was incredible! The flavors blended perfectly. It wasn’t too heavy, but it was anything but bland. After eating my salad, appetizer, breadsticks, and half of my entree, I was stuffed, so I packaged up my leftovers and then got to chose an additional entree to take home. I stuck with the Mezzaluna Ravioli because it was so good.

Because I usually get stuck sharing my restaurant leftovers with my kids, I was especially happy to have an extra meal to bring home. And, seriously, the amount of great food that we got for just $12.95 was incredible. I would have been happy with the food at the restaurant for that price, but the additional take-home meal was a wonderful bonus.

Olive Garden’s Dinner Today & Dinner Tomorrow promotion is running through November 18, 2012. For more details on this special, visit Olivegarden.com.
