Saying Goodbye to Friends – PSF/GMYBS linky

Thursday, June 30, 2011 by Lolli 21 Comments

A few years ago, a family moved in near us. I instantly hit it off with the mom, and our similarly-aged kids became best of friends.

Our teens got together for loads of movie parties, our kindergarteners had joint birthday parties, and I took on a weekly babysitting gig to help Mom with the two babies.

I love this family.

Before I went to Type A Conference, I took their kids (all 7 of them!) down to my favorite place on earth and took some photos of them. Here are a few of my favorites (this is one of KitKat’s BFFs). Isn’t she gorgeous?

Today I spent 3 hours helping them pack up the last few things in their house before they headed to the airport to move across the country. It feels like I was helping them paint their living room yesterday.

I am going to miss them.

It’s so hard when friends, especially family-like friends love away. They take such a huge piece of you with them.

I’m so sorry to hear that your family friends are moving so far away. But I like what Run DMT said…a strong friendship can weather anything!

It’s never easy to say good-bye to such great friends, but great friendships will stretch miles. No distance is to great to keep great friends apart.

    Love the photos!
