Spring Break 2010

Tuesday, April 6, 2010 by Lolli 14 Comments

After returning home from my second full day’s trip out with the kids last week, my husband asked a tired me, “Why do you do this to yourself?”

I told him the alternative was staying home and watching movies all day.

The weather was gorgeous, we live in one of the most exciting places in the US, and although our plans didn’t always turn out as expected, we had great fun together last week.

(Pictures taken at the Lincoln Memorial and at Gravelly Point, where you can watch planes land with the Washington Monument in the background)

But boy, oh boy, am I happy that school is starting back up tomorrow!

Good for you for spending your days with the kids out of the home! The experiences you gave them are so much better than staying inside with a movie. I bet it was totally worth the exhaustion.

Yep! Nothing worse than bored kids cooped up in the house. We had plenty of that this Winter. We’re ready to be outside!

It’s true. THe kids are happy to stay home for the most part. They certainly find things to do. But it’s good to get them out and moving every once in a while. :)

I find that as my children get older, we can spend a day or two at home without any issues. O.K. we have a few issues, but nothing major. But, a day trip is good for “blowing out the cobwebs” as my grandmother used to say. It also helps pry a child or tow away from a device with a plug!

It looks like you made the most of the time you had and the weather you had. The pictures (no shock) are amazing.

We are two days into Spring break and it’s snowed both days. I scraped 5 inches off the car this morning. Blah.
