Trapped? – Give Me Your Best Shot

Thursday, April 1, 2010 by Lolli 28 Comments

Today I had a different sort of picture to share. Since this week has been Spring Break for me and my kids, we’ve had a lot of adventurous outings. Yesterday, my friend, Safire, and I and our 8 kids (combined) plus her dog drove up to Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia. It’s one of our favorite places to visit! Here’s what I came back with:

We found a metal fence propped up next to a hole in a bridge and the kids each took turns getting inside to take “jail” pictures. Twizzler got inside and immediately posed like this, and I came away with a very interesting shot! Not my typical mommy photo. Maybe I was drawn to this shot today because I am feeling blue about some news I got today. Mom and Dad, I’m thinking about you guys!

There were several other fun shots from Spring Break. This is just a hint of what we did this week:

Now it’s your turn. What did you do this week? For those of you who haven’t played along before, GMYBS is not a contest, and it’s for any level of photographer. It’s simply a fun way to show off the favorite picture (or favorites) that you’ve taken this week.  Read to find out more about Give Me Your Best Shot….And come back to leave the link to your best shot below (please link to your actual Give Me Your Best Shot post). And Grab my button(s) here and link to me so that we can get more people to stop by!

PS–happily linked to Cecily’s PhotoStory Friday, too!

Harper’s Ferry is such an interesting place. I didn’t appreciate it when I was younger; I’d love to go back and visit as an adult. Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

I might just have to do that! :) Thanks!

It better not be a happy contest, though, because this picture is seriously depressing!

Even though I know the story, it’s kind of hard for me to look at it too much. Makes me feel sad for my boy!

I know just what you mean about that picture. Eventhough I was the one who took it, it still makes me feel so sad looking at it. It’s not very often that I come across a picture that makes me feel such strong emotion!

That would have been hilarious! When we put the almost-2-year-olds behind the fence, one of them pouted. SO funny!

That picture is totally growing on me. But it makes me want to cry. I think I’ll save it for blue days, when I really need to bring on the tears.

I love that B&W shot! Gives me the chills even though I know your kids posed for you. It looks like something out of a museum or history book.

Your collection of Spring Break photos are great too.

Sorry you’re feeling blue. Take in some of those gorgeous spring colors near you to make you feel your rosie self again. (((HUGS)))
