Real Isn’t How You Are Made – Velveteen Rabbit Quote #WW

Tuesday, June 11, 2013 by Lolli 12 Comments

We have a few wild rabbits that enjoy breakfast in our backyard every morning, and this week I decided to be ready with my zoom lens when I went down to the kitchen. I’m sure the rest of the family thought I was silly snapping a dozen pictures of a rabbit I see everyday, but it was worth it to me. This shot reminded me of a favorite Velveteen Rabbit quote:

Oddly, the rabbits leave our vegetable garden alone. It’s the squirrels that love the plants in our garden!

I can only imagine that the Beast scares away a bunch of the little critters. I wouldn’t mind that so much (although, truly, the rabbits don’t do much harm).

It’s my husband’s favorite childhood book, too. I think we have 4 or 5 copies in our house. Thanks for linking up!

Oh, the bunnies and other critters that love to eat my yard up! I’d be fine if they’d stick to the grass but they like my veggie plants.

Great shot, perfect quote. We never get bunnies in the yard anymore thanks to The Beast. The deer still come around though.
