Weight Watchers Personal Coaching #WeightWatchers

Monday, January 5, 2015 by Lolli 6 Comments

This post was created as part of a relationship in which I was sponsored by Weight Watchers and given a free three month subscription to try their new Personal Coaching product and write about my experience. Though I was compensated for my time and commitment, all views, positive and negative, are my own. #WeightWatchers #WWsponsored

We’ve officially entered New Year’s Resolution season…that time of the year when many of us set goals for making the new year better than the previous. I admit – I have not been a fan of the New Year’s Resolution trend for many years. I want to make changes in my life because I want to make changes…not because it’s “that time of year.”

Deciding that it’s time to make a change is tough…

I’ve known that it was time for me to make some changes in my health (specifically my weight and energy levels) for a while now. But I was scared to make the commitment to change. I was scared to start because I knew it was going to be hard. All I could think about were all of the things I’d have to give up – like my chocolate obsession.

I was actually grateful that I started my new journey with Weight Watchers before the New Year. I’m currently on week 3 with Weight Watchers, and I am feeling better than I have in a long time. I finally have faith that I can do this – that I’m strong enough to stick with my new resolution to treat my body better. I chose this quote as my personal motivator and have it written at the top of my January calendar:

losing weight is hard....choose your hard #WeightWatchers

Weight Watchers Personal Coaching: My Mentor, My Cheerleader, My Friend

I owe a lot of my new drive and commitment to the Weight Watcher’s Personal Coaching program. Over the last 3 weeks, my Coach has become my mentor, my cheerleader, and the person I can’t wait to talk to when I have a personal success to celebrate.

When I first signed up for Weight Watchers, I had the chance to hand-select my coach after reading through a few profiles. I was drawn to Kymberly’s profile because she sounded like someone I could relate to. I scheduled a coaching session easily from my Weight Watchers dashboard, and then a few days later, chatted with her on the phone. I love that I can schedule coaching sessions from my computer – it’s as easy as clicking on my coach’s schedule and selecting from her available time slots. I can schedule up to 3 sessions at a time. After meeting with my coach twice, she reminded me that I can always reach her for a quick question or a check-in via the messaging system. When I noticed on my weekly weigh in this morning that I had dropped some weight, I sent her a quick (but excited) note to let her know the good news.

During our coaching calls, Kymberly was able to answer all of my questions about using the Points Plus system and tracking my food, and she gave me some ideas to tackle some of my trouble spots (like frequent snacking throughout the day). After each of our sessions, she has sent me an action list so that I would remember the goals and plans we’d talked about doing for the coming week.

Perhaps the most surprising and welcome result of the Personal Coaching program? I truly feel like I have someone on my side. I can share with her my successes and she is excited with me….but when I have a set-back (which has already happened, thanks to the holidays) she is right there by my side to encourage me and get me back on the right track. In fact, when I felt like I had had a total “failure” day, Kymberly turned it around to be something positive for me journey-to-a-smaller-me. She reminded me that I am in the process of teaching myself new habits – and perhaps more importantly, unlearning old habits from the past 40 years. It’s not an easy thing to do.

About Weight Watchers Personal Coaching:

  • All Coaches have successfully lost weight on Weight Watchers and can provide inspiration, motivation and accountability. They understand that losing weight is not easy because they’ve been there. They understand the struggles because they’ve faced them, too.
  • Personal Coaching offers members the chance to create a customized action plan and individualized solution to their specific problems and challenges. Instead of meeting with large groups, members get one-on-one attention.
  • Coaching sessions are scheduled online (you pick a time that works with your schedule) and then completed over the phone. Coaches listen to members’ challenges and achievements and then works on an action plan for the coming week.
  • Members get unlimited access to coaches via phone, text message, and email.

Follow along on my Weight Watcher’s journey – I’ll be posting my experiences here regularly over the next few months. Please let me know if you have any question or if you’ve got specific areas (tips, struggles, etc) you’d like me to share in future posts.

How could Weight Watchers help you achieve your goals for a healthier lifestyle?

I have several friends that have been successful with Weight Watchers. Love that they offer personal coaching especially if its hard to make it to the meetings.

I didn’t know that Weight Watchers had personal trainers now. That is just great.

My mother-in-law has been on WW off and on for a few years. Didn’t realize they had personal coaching now, will have to ask her if that’s what she had.
